Fresh snowfall is causing more misery for Christmas travelers in Europe with airports in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and Brussels continuing to cancel flights

Let's just blame it all on Heathrow. You can't really blame Heathrow for not investing heavily in snow clearing equipment when the Government and their "experts" constantly bang on about AGW and how snow will be a "thing of the past" before long, and we will all have to show our grandkids pictures of it as they won't know what it is.
As usual, down to the fact that AtW is planning to fly soon he has to have a pop at our infrastructure. You should be thankful, if you still lived in USSR, all that is needed there to induce the pilots to fly is a double-portion of pre-flight Vodka to steady their nerves.
Moreover, once airborne our planes tend to stay there more consistently than Aeroflop!! The answer is, as always, if you don't like it nobody is forcing you to stay!!!

Yes, let's do that for sure:

"While Gatwick has 150 people clearing snow and ice, Heathrow had only 50 “snow specialists”.

Frankfurt airport, which cancelled only around 25 per cent of its flights yesterday, has 42 snowploughs compared to 28 at Heathrow, which cancelled two thirds of services.

At Stockholm’s Arlanda airport, the runway can be cleared in six minutes using 18 ploughs working in tandem. It cancelled just 10 of its 600 flights yesterday but only because they could not land at their destinations, which included Heathrow. "

It's not snow that's the problem it's ability to deal with it that's the issue for cheap skates BAA - "world class" airport my arse.

Go via Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham or another regional airport.

Go anywhere? I need to go to a specific location - there ain't many direct flights to Moscow from those airports (if any).

You will be able to get connecting flights from AMS and CDG airports via them. Though as they seem to be having problems as well.........maybe not
