The M5 doesn't sound good either, in the Midlands. The news reporter used words such as 'carnage', 'terrifying' and 'never so frightened'.

I'd never thought I'd say this:

"Hurrah for driving on the M25".
My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.

So many potential responses; so little time.

Could get busy near the M40 junction, if people are still trying to get on it, as the M40 is snafued:
                M40 Buckinghamshire, northbound between M25 [M40 junction 1A] and A361 [M40 junction 11]
M40 Buckinghamshire - Severe delays on M40 northbound between J1a, M25 (Buckinghamshire) and J11, A361 (Banbury, Oxfordshire), because of snow.

                Severe
And then on the M23 near Gatwick:
                M23 West Sussex, northbound at M23 [M23 junction 9]
M23 West Sussex - One lane blocked on M23 northbound at J9, M23 (Gatwick Airport), because of a broken down vehicle.

                Medium

                  M25 Surrey, anti-clockwise between A317 [M25 junction 11] and A3 [M25 junction 10]
M25 Surrey - Three lanes closed on M25 anticlockwise between J11, A317 (Chertsey) and J10, A3 (Wisley Interchange), because of a jackknifed lorry.

                  Severe

Sounds like they took a shortcut through Walsall.
Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

The M5 was closed in the end.

And yet here it is fine, we've hardly got any snow ffs.
