One of many problems with relying on texts or scriptures or accepted teaching is that there are so many possible interpretations and often they have changed collossally over the centuries, sometimes for political reasons. A bit of a case of the devil quoting scripture since I loath Islam but this Islamic site illustrates how the same texts can be read umpteen different ways by different people according to bias:

Where in the entire Bible is wife-beating forbidden?
Jesus himself witnessed it and never once denounced it
Women in Christianity and Islam. Also, Pornography and Homosexuality in the Bible.

A Christian could no doubt find other bits of text to refute this but this is an argument where the minds have been made up beforehand and is therefore entirely pointless. Make laws according to basic rights and common sense, if they do not work (as evidenced by statistics) then revoke or modify them.

PS Mental health and suicide among Muslim women in UK.

Darn right. Punishable by death, about time us atheists had some fun.

You really have to get some lessons in trolling.

There are no trolls on CUK. Only those with a different view.

None of the atheists picked that up.

                    You interpret it wrong.

The pictures are of the same person.

It shows that at the baseline, assume total relaxation, there is a certain amount of brain activity in some regions of the brain.

In the picture to the left it show the same person when he is meditating, ie. thinking as hard as possible about his religious beliefs. A little more activity is spotted. But it is still very far from using a lot of the brain.

There is no indication of this test person being anywhere near "smart".
