I'm going to buy some of those clip on crampons if I see them in the shops, which no doubt I will not see, as my trainers appear to be Teflon coated. Either that or carry an old pair of socks, which I hear are effective when worn over the shoes.

They have been saying "It will snow at the weekend" in the weather forecast on the local radio here since the first week in October. So:
