Damn it DA – Find myself agreeing with you again. PG should be immediately offered a personal tax amnesty equivalent to 10% of the savings he makes from taking over purchasing and budget decisions from central government.
Try to see the big and full picture people, you sound stupid repeating some tabloid headline from the jealous brigade.

I never said he was - I'm just pointing out that some people (super rich/MPs etc) get away with it while others (contractors/small businesses/easy targets etc) have to go through some real carp.

I see nothing wrong with paying the minimum you're legally obliged to and arranging your affairs to reduce that figure. I do it myself and will continue to unless forced to do otherwise.

What annoys me are groups of protestors like this one which is mostly made up of students who don't actually pay tax and it now looks like the poorer ones are going to have their university education largely paid for anyway

I think without doubt that Phillip Green, UK domiciled or not is a better judge of how to spend money than any government.
We seem to be getting to a point where the prevailing mood is one of envy, which is very Scottish. It will not be long before like Scotland there will be no more entrepreneurs, just a freeloading workforce employed by the state. I am surprised that contractors of all people should be criticising phillip green.
