    All very sound points, except I'd change that to read no fees for any subjects taught, say, at least seventy years ago. That would still allow people to study civilized worthwhile subjects like ancient Greek pottery and history (philosophy is borderline - maybe they should still pay for that), but would exclude rubbishy subjects like sociology and management studies.


    OH in "if every chemist in the World dropped dead we'd be back in the stone age in a month; but if every sociologist dropped dead (and every socialist come to that) we'd actually be better off" mode.
