How to add an Avatar and Signature

Being a highly paid, successful and intelligent IT professional, can someone tell me how to .... add a fooking Avatar and Signature !!

I'm sure it's so simple but can't figure it out. Do you have to have a minimum amount of posts before you can do it?

Log in , go to Settings, Edit avatar and Edit Signature are in the left hand pane.

BTW what flavour are you (I hate smokey bacon)?
