At least MTT had a less antagonistic and more succinct way of putting it. -
I think Ireland is very much past that, the old wounds and small minds are a very small minority. At the end of the day it's a financial bailout, you'd think after nearly 100 years that the bigotry would be confined to the North?Originally posted by cailin maith View PostA mixture of old wounds and small minds will mean that'll never be the case.Comment

Anyone else see the irony of that post? FFS woman you're just as guilty of bigotry as you say "they" are.Originally posted by norrahe View PostI think Ireland is very much past that, the old wounds and small minds are a very small minority. My impression from the Irish people I know is that it's a minority that continue whining. Trouble is, small minds are usually connected to large mouths and that's what makes bigotry noisy.Originally posted by cailin maith View PostReally? At the end of the day mistakes have been made in the past and many have moved on from that. I am growing tired of the old adage of Ireland being anti English.Originally posted by SupremeSpod View PostAnyone else see the irony of that post? Financial mistakes are omnipresent and the Irish economy will need help no matter where that comes from.Comment

I would suggest that it's very much alive and well on both sides of the border. It is just hidden below the surface most of the time.Originally posted by norrahe View PostI think Ireland is very much past that, the old wounds and small minds are a very small minority. Ironically, I think the only time Ireland was 'united' under a single ruling entity was under the British. Just an observation and I recommend that it's never mentioned in conversation.Comment
