Well today is the start of Carnival Season, actual carnival celebration week begins in March, officially the week before Ash wednesday, between now and then each weekend they have a sort of mini carnival celebrations up until the main Carnival celebration weekOriginally posted by alreadypacked View PostWhich carnival day is it when the women cut the mens tie ?
At 11.11am on 3 March the main carnival week in Cologne is declared officially open with the Women's Carnival Day, when the women of Cologne are deemed in charge of the city. This is the tiw cutting day by women to any men wearing a tie in the city. The proud owner of 125 Xeno Geek PointsComment

Around our way you have the option of getting your tie cut off or your trousers pulled down
This is actually based around an old fertility tradition where on that day the women could 'sleep' with any man they liked and if were found to be getting a bit larger later then there was nothing could be done about it (putting it roughly that is.) Its can be a great time for going to the pubs as they tend to be open for around 80 hours and everyone is rather drunk and, putting it mildly, randy...

Well I've just been into Köln (Cologne) train station and its heaving with people in fancy dress and quite a few wobbly legs with red noses. There was a brass band marching along the street who ended up playing in the main throughfare. All very peaceful and looks like fun except the place I wanted to go to was full, bastards, still had a nice young lady cut my hair.“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment
