      Not this year

I'm not buying a poppy or engaging in the purile public emote about the sacrifice squaddies make. Iraq was a fiasco, and Afghanistan is not worth it.
I don't like seeing service people killed or injured, but to be honest, I'm really totally ambivalent about it all.

This year, the RBL has been a lot more 'in-yer-face' about us all 'honouring those who serve us'. This is cant of the worst sort. Nobody asks them to join up - they all know the risks.

I'm really not that interested enough to GAS.

But nowadays I think "poppy day" embraces the peace movement too
Eh? The point of the poppy was always to remember so that we do not do it again. It was always a peace symbol.

It was a symbol of war regret, now it has been hijacked by some to be a symbol of war support (help for heros). It was never a peace symbol.

I wouldn't, Mitch tends to contribute interesting posts and threads unlike some on CUK.

I observe the silence from personal choice.

Firstly it's spelled puerile, and secondly, don't use words you don't understand: since when was emoting in public childishly immature ? That's not a trait I'd attach to silly school boys.

Just for clarity - do the esteemed panel respect the right of this lot to disturb the 2 minute silence?

                    hmmmm
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

I think it is about time something got done about the Daily Mail. It incites hatred and racism. That 'story' is incredibly editorialised; it is like a piece of late 1930s propoganda.

Do yourself a favour, Troll. Don't read such rubbish. It'll turn you into Cyberman.
