I got slightly above average on most, except the which group of shapes was the odd one out where I did terrible (top 90% ), and the overlapping shapes one which I aced and got top 4% or something. What does this all mean???!

I like the explanation on the results of the first question saying that chimps outperform humans at that one.
I think I got my highest score on test 1

But we went one step further. Thanks to recent work with brain scanners, we could make sure that the tests involved as much of the brain as possible – from the outer layers, responsible for higher thought, to deeper-lying structures such as the hippocampus, which is involved in memory.

Slightly above average in most, high in the interlinked shapes one, top 8%. Bang on average in a couple but never below.

I'm not convinced where they get their averages from, an 'average joe' would struggle to even understand the questions in some cases. Or is average of those who participated?

Best was top 6%. Worst was 'top' 84%.

If you were really smart you would have thought that maybe that wasn't the only test!

Had less than 6 hours sleep last night so my memory is shot to pieces and it showed, not that it's great in the first place
did pretty well in the rotating/difference spotting/shape spatial awareness and the focused attention
best I got was top 2% for rotation
worst was top 83% for working memory

Thought I'd do better on the planning one but was getting restless by this point and didn't plan ahead!

Had a couple of 10%'s and two 94's but the missus was shouting at me for one and then the bloody sally army turned up for the 2nd

for the record, it appears I am RUBBISH at mentally rotating things. If you want something mentally rotated, don't come to me.
I'm the opposite - I did very well on that, average on most, and abysmally badly on two or three.

I was a bit put off in the first few by the way the cursor kept dissapearing behind the panel, until I twigged that the trick is to keep it to one side when not clicking.

Actually, I've just realised that's a more interesting question than I first though. At first I thought it would be an average based on previous users' scores, and hence the test would get progressively more aggressively scored the more CUK users used it

But they want to use this data for some research or other, so presumably they would have to go back to the raw data and rework out new averages at some point. And the score shown to participants would be a bit of a guess (and if the test opened up the wider population scores rise markedly I expect). But I guess all intelligence tests have similar problems.
