Get her a Tazer, or mace, some voltage applied to their balls will sort them out,Originally posted by configman View PostI was bullied at school by several older kids - once only. My dad was a para++ and taught me how to catch each bully on their own when they would be

There was three of them, and one of her. They were repeatedly hitting her.Originally posted by d000hg View PostSlapping on the head hard, or irritating and more humiliating than painful? Not that it's not still bullying but I can't see anyone getting in trouble for an isolated incident of being an idiot. Even detention seems borderline unless they're known troublemakers.
If they are not stopped now and made to feel they don't want to be caught again, there will be no deterrent for others.
In short, she'll get beaten up, either by them, or by ohers who know they won't be punished. And then she'll be a 'victim' and at risk of being screwed up for life.
It was a repeated assult by a gang against a girl and at 17 years old, that is well out of order. I wouldn't have a problem with them being in front of a magistrate. My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.Comment

Let me take them on a trip into the country, with a quarter gallon of petrol in me motor, this time there will be no AA to save anyone.Originally posted by RichardCranium View PostThere was three of them, and one of her. They were repeatedly hitting her.

Define hitting & assault? Children do this all the time normally more like water torture than laying into the other person. My mental image is her on a bus and them rapping her on the head from the seat behind. If it's more serious that's different but nobody said it was yet. What if they were pulling her hair instead of 'hitting' her, you'd still want them expelled since it's technically assault?Originally posted by RichardCranium View PostThere was three of them, and one of her. It's an easy one on the face of it, take action NOW. either get them expelled or get the polis in.
But having had kids in this situation, it's not as clear cut as that. If it was part of a systematic bullying, she was isolated, suicidal, getting molested or getting distessed, then , yes , intervene.
If its a one off, or her friends rally round, or she deals with it herself, then leave it be, she will come out stronger.
It's natural for parents to think of the worst, but sometimes the kids can suprise, and that is brilliant. so a bit of intell gathering is in order

Tell her to offer shiners all around to appease them..... Though thinking about it, the slapping on the back of the head might not stop.
