    FFS, make yer own Bivvy!

Failing that, I believe Hilton group provide a passable alternative.
I've slept in a mac in a sack (or rather a cheaper alternative) on top of a towel (and later under the towel), but I wouldn't particularly recommend it.

Top tips: You can make a cheap ground sheet out of an old shower curtain and a pillow out of one of those plastic bags that seal up. This is a far cry from the luxury £40 tent end of the camping spectrum though.

I would suggest you get a life rather a new tent.

I reckon an empty wheelie bin laid on its side would work well if you were short.

And when you get up, you could just pop you rucksack in it and pull it along behind you.

Why bother with a rucksack when you have a perfectly serviceable wheelie bin?

There has to be a balance when buying a tent, one thats too comfortable or big and you may as well get a caravan or rent a hotel room. I would prefer a nice log cabin.

When you tip your stuff out of the wheelie-bin so you can sleep in it, you need somewhere to keep your stuff. Hence the rucksack.

Personally, I don't think you could beat the old fashioned phone box for a night's kip for the cost-conscious traveller wanting to travel light.

Once you'd got over the smell of wee, obviously.

Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
