Have we (UK PLC) agreed to this?
Senior figures in the Conservative-Liberal Democrat Coalition have been split by the decision. It has been reported that Vince Cable, the Business Secretary, and William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, argue that the EU-India agreement must go ahead because it is worth hundreds of millions of pounds to business, but David Cameron, the Prime Minister, and Theresa May, the Home Secretary, are opposedBritain will be bound by any final EU agreement
So are we stuffed - like it or not? However, some politicians believe the EU should not be doing trade deals on the behalf of Britain and that the UK Visa cap is non-negotiable."Is someone you don't like allowed to say something you don't like? If that is the case then we have free speech."- Elon MuskComment

William Hague promises UK sovereignty law
What's it gonna be boy, yes or no?Mr Hague said a clause would be included in the European Union Bill to place the sovereignty of the British Parliament on the statute book for the first time.
It would make clear that EU law only takes effect in the UK through the European Communities Act 1972, which Parliament may amend or repeal.Job motivation: how the powerful steal from the stupid.Comment

Businesses mean "we can't get enough skilled workers who will do the work for peanuts"Originally posted by CheeseSlice View PostI hate the way our politicians get mixed messages.

The "market price" depends on who is in the market. UK plc, and now the EU, is in the process of bringing a vastly larger and cheaper population of sellers into the IT skills market, and the price is going to become peanuts.Originally posted by Platypus View PostBusinesses mean "we can't get enough skilled workers who will do the work for peanuts"
I don't expect businesses to do otherwise, but I do expect government to.Job motivation: how the powerful steal from the stupid.Comment

I think a lot of them have got a bit too used to credit crunch rates as well. Some of the random pimp emails I'm still getting now are absurd - even though the market's picking up..Originally posted by Platypus View PostBusinesses mean "we can't get enough skilled workers who will do the work for peanuts"
Even if Bob moves over here he's still going to have to pay living expenses over here - and have enough to send money home. Unless we see a Polish model of 30-40 people living in 1 house.."Is someone you don't like allowed to say something you don't like? If that is the case then we have free speech."- Elon MuskComment

Most will come on a 6 month visa, meaning they are non-resident and non-domiciled and hence no tax to pay on their earnings here.Originally posted by Jog On View PostI think a lot of them have got a bit too used to credit crunch rates as well. Free trade deals can only be mutually beneficial for countries on about the same or close level of development (includes laws protecting workers, minimum wage etc).Comment
