    lol you mong.

even in a real war, where real horrors were happening, they used the words may and could.

Unlike youse sloppy fascists, who use the word will

Yep. That seemed pretty offensive and in your face.

Which is fine of course, obviously you cannot be offended when it comes to climate change.

So hopefully nobody gets offended with my new video of Hitler at Auschwitz arguing with Goebbels over turning down the gas for 1010!

And now they're implying that children could die if you don't buy War Bonds? How insensitive is that?? Couldn't they just shut up and kind of ignore the war? Or just put some pictures of kittens up. I mean, we all have to die... it's just a question of timing. There's no need to actually show that it will be really, really horrid if we don't do something.
This is not a great analogy, and I have nothing against them campaigning for their cause, just so long as they do it in a socially acceptable way.

Nobody has the right to subject a crowd of unsuspecting people to graphic and offensive imagery of blood and guts flying across the room without any prior warning.

Those war posters were created in a way that was acceptable whilst still getting the message across. There is no reason why 10-10 can't do this too. They just chose to scaremonger and bully people using shock tactics that are teetering between an awareness campaign and visual terrorism.

Even the recent 'Think' driving/speeding campaign ads that show a child being hit by a car (with reverse filmography) - though chilling - are able to drive the message home, without crossing the line of what people will watch without being seriously offended.

Finally, the 10-10 ad doesn't even use credible or likely imagery of consequences to promote their cause. Does anyone really believe that people will explode in a splatter of blood and entrails if climate change isn't prevented? The war posters and the think campaign are all credible. These things are believable, often factual and therefore are valid and warranted campaigns.

Maybe not, but I suppose that they didn't really have time to show people dying slowly of starvation and disease following catastrophic floods and droughts, or fighting for space in the areas of the planet which remain viable.

The real problem with these adverts is that the people they are presumably meant to be aimed at simply don't get the message at all, or are "offended" by the "shock tactics" (if you ask me, they've toned everything down in the film - I imagine that exploding in a pile of blood and guts would be quite pleasant compared to what's likely to actually happen).

Unfortunately we have heard it from the scaremongers so many times before, that we just dont listen any more. You cry Wolf too often

If the world continues to warm then food production will continue to rise as it has been doing over the last 30 years, and as it did in the MWP 1000 years ago. The starvation is not caused by a shortage food, but by misuse of agricultural land such as in growing Biofuels.

One of the biggest environmental threats we face are Ecologists tearing down Rainforests to plant Biofuel, but even worse would be the plans of some Eco-Twerps to pumping tons of sulphur into the upper atmosphere, or filling the oceans full of algae.

Personally I think we need a scaremongering film to increase peoples awareness of what Eco-Nerds are doing to the planet.

It's worth looking at some of the scaremongering predictions made 30 years ago, when the Global Warming scare started, according to Hansen the sea level should have risen by a few metres by now. Well it's risen by a few millimetres, and currently it's dropping, and the polar ice cap has melted slightly and the Antarctic Ice is growing, record levels this year.

and the polar bears have doubled in number
the himalayan glaciers have not melted
mars and jupiter have warmed up a lot (that must be quite some reach for the co2)

every one is entitled to a religious belief, but dont confuse your religion for science. What you stand for is the new religion of the environment.
Anyways, must pop out to buy my eco-indulgences or carbon credits as you call them. must atone for my sins and abase myself for taking an unneccesary flight recently. oh the guilt

...and a category 3 hurricane hasn't hit mainland USA for 5 years, the last time that happened was 1910-1914.

...in this century the more people are killed by obesity than starvation. Starvation was a problem of the last century. If there is a food problem then it's because the beef, bread or wheat mountain can't be transported quick enough to the war torn country where the problem is.

150 years of growth. Would you swap me your 1 degree for that ? to be back in Dickensian times. I'll take the heat thank you.
But even so, I dont think you are right.
