How about a very nice Bentley Turbo R:

    1994 Bentley Turbo R - £14000

You should be able to get it for £13500 which means you've got £3500 for the extra fuel and the odd bill. Nothing to worry about on the space front either.

I love the picnic tables in the back.

So if you want to get ripped off then buy an Alfa.
However they're not even that good looking anymore.
IMHO the Mazda 6 hatch is the 1st good looking jap car with the estate being the best looking of any brand ...
        Mazda 6 estate looks good.

        Northampton Motors : Mazda 6

However, think what the neighbours will say if they see you in a cheap Jap car rather than a premium brand such as BMW, Merc or Audi. One must keep up standards or they'll think you are now unemployed.

Fair enough. I've not had any problems personally and the dealers have all been uncharacteristically helpful. If anything goes dramatically wrong my father in law owns a garage, so I've got a nice back up.

They've got quite a good online community as well. I had a bizarre moment of confusion recently when I came across this thread. Recognise it?

I am going to give one a whiz, I think - never driven an Alfa. Will let you know what I think!

Much as I appreciate how sensible the Maza and Ford may be, I suspect I'm too up my own arse to drive them.

Edit: Erm, Wilmslow truly is a loser. They're much nicer to him there, aren't they.

              Mary,

Why don't you buy a nice blue car?

Red cars are very tempting for the ladies, but the paint tends to fade and look nasty.

(thought this might be easier for a girl than all the technical details about engine size and whatnot)
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

                      What about a Toyota RAV4 ?

Not as huge as an XC90 and been around for long enough that you can find very nice specimens for sensible money.

Loads on Autotrader. I like 'em personally.
