Seems like there's more than one "devout muslim" trying to whip this one up for their own political agenda.
Twelve cartoons were originally published by Jyllands-Posten. None showed the Prophet with the face of a pig. Yet such a portrayal has circulated in the Middle East (The BBC was caught out and for a time showed film of this in Gaza without realizing it was not one of the 12).
This picture, a fuzzy grey photocopy, can now be traced back (suspicion having been confirmed by an admission) to a delegation of Danish Muslim leaders who went to the Middle East in November to publicise the cartoons. The visit was organised by Abu Laban, a leading Muslim figure in Denmark.
The original of the "pig" picture was from a "pig-sqealing" competition held in France every summer where people dress up as pigs.Comment

I was a little confused when people said the cartoons weren't funny, 'cause they made me LOL when I read the original article. Hence it did cross my mind that people were maybe complaining about some different cartoons.
And now it would appear to be that loon going to Iran who set this all off.
Figures.
Also, I am having a major feeling of deja vu on this. Weren't there somat like this just before Iraq kicked off.Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

Oh, and don't forget guys and gals, free speech doesn't mean you can say whatever you like.
Never has done LB.
Speech that is inflamatory and offensive will have repercussions.
Dont think so ?
Try going to a cinema and shouting FIRE.
Try going to a Rangers football match and shout GOD BLESS THE IRA

Or, go to the streets of Dewsbury and shout "This is a secular country where freedom of speech and the rights to hold personal religions and beliefs were hard won"Originally posted by AlfredJPruffockOh, and don't forget guys and gals, free speech doesn't mean you can say whatever you like.

Its a good job that he was wearing the traditional muslim fanatic dress, that of a suicide bomber. Had he dared to go into London disguised as a Brazillian bloke the old bill would no doubt have pumped him full of lead.
Also, isn't that a police van he is stood next to?
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

Not really, Alf, no. Are you saying I shouldn't be allowed to go to a Rangers match, shout "God bless the IRA", and then get my head kicked in for it? These guys are saying you shouldn't be allowed to criticise their religion.Originally posted by AlfredJPruffockOh, and don't forget guys and gals, free speech doesn't mean you can say whatever you like.

Yes. They were kind enough to give him a lift to the march. You are allowed to go to a Rangers Match and say that, but I doubt you would live to tell the taleOriginally posted by Lucifer BoxNot really, Alf, no. Dont try this at home kids
They are saying do not blaspheme something by publication, which to them is sacred.
I happen to respect that, others may not.
But then again not much in our society is sacred, is it?
Finally the notion that this Danish newspaper had earlier refused to publish cartoons of Christ for fear of upetting its readers, really says it all.
Utter hypocrites, in my view.Last edited by AlfredJPruffock; 7 February 2006, 12:19.Comment
