For a clever guy, your thinking is particularly disjointed and illogical. Too much vodka?

First of all we don't make the goods, we import them anyway (plasma tellies, cameras, PCs etc). The solution is for everyone to have fewer goods since to buy them, as a country, we are borrowing the money anyway. That's what a balance of payments deficit is. Although that's an economic not an ecological argument it works both ways.

The reason for the strange weather is quite simple....weather, i.e. a blocking system. Probably as a result of a rather unusual extended solar minimum.

You have to distinguish between climate and weather.

As xoggoth says pointless shutting down power stations unless you want to sit in the dark, especially when it has no impact on the climate any way.

My prediction is cretin/village idiot is used before post 20 in this thread.
          Hockey stick before 25
          Pseudo science before 35.

Do you have any facts to go with those generalisations?

            Define "strange stuff"

I'd be more surprised if records were never broken, we've not actually been measuring climate with great accuracy for that long

Wet and Humid in the UK... not that unusual during a hot British summer

Its your kids I feel sorry for. Regression to the mean means that they'll be more intelligent than you.
And so they'll have to put up with a dad who not only is a gurning and drooling village idiot, but who with his obsession with "hockey stick" swindles and his belief in denialist pseudo science is a complete embarassment to them.

I can imagine a scenario where SasGorus kids file for adoption on the grounds that their dad made them wear tee shirts , even when it was freezing, just to 'show em the world is definately getting warmer', and crying when all the palm trees he planted in the back garden died of frostbite

Meanwhile, fossil fuels are running out. That's the real reason for the climate change stories.
