We were promised 5cm rainfall, traffic chaos and gales by the short term climatologists yesterday. I was saying to people, you'd hardly suspect it were it not for the fine weathermen's forecast, a stonage guy might never know what was coming. We were wrong to suspend disbelieve though, there's drizzle and no wind.

This is Britain today.
Companies: We need more migrants.
UK citizens: But what about...
Establishment and morons like Norraha, lilelvis2000: No... you cannot argue against it in any way for any reason, it is racist, xenophobic, Daily Mail.
Some debate we are having.bloggoth

Have you ever gotten divorced, or finished with a bird and thought 'If I had known it was going to turn out like this, I would never have gotten involved' ??
There is another thread on here about the Battle of Britain, I wonder how many of those guys would have looked at Britains ethnic make-up today and thought exactly the same

Any way we could convince students to take anything like engineering in more numbers. I see general studies is very popular...Any idea what the heck that is?McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."

No I didn't. I mentioned Migrant twice, one was just a passing reference to sharing a house with some, the main paragraph began:
"migrants on very low wages in the UK"
I never said we were not talking about immigration, what I actually said was:
"We were not talking about immigration generally but specifically about the very low paid sector"
It seems you cannot read either.
I personally don't have a problem with moderate numbers of useful migrants who fit in, do not cause us problems and contribute more than they pay in and I have said that many times on my blog and more than once on here I think. You just prefer to smeer anyone who does not toe your PC line in its entirety and apparently you do not deem it necessary to actually read what they have written.Last edited by xoggoth; 23 August 2010, 10:06.bloggoth

I agree, plenty of companies have been abusing the availability of imigrants willing to work for next to nothing.
I would not say that the UK is better or worse for immigration. Immigration seems to be more of a side effect of the UK's need to be at the centre of the world.Coffee's for closersComment
