Its a completely new version windows mobile. It looks like their jumping on the "social phone" band wagon and they could make a right balls up of it.
They already have with the kin "prototype". Six weeks after launch its been quietly killed (until the register found out and announced the fact).

As for me, I'm happy with my 11 month old hero will probably replace it with the equivalent in 7-8 months time.

            Guess who:

I almost always go out with an iPhone in one pocket, a BlackBerry in another and an Android device in a third. But then I am peculiar. If I had to keep only one, yes, I confess I would choose the iPhone, but I could cope happily if I were left with just a BlackBerry Bold or an HTC Desire. At least so I would have said until last week when Apple gave me an iPhone 4 to play with...

And the winner by popular vote is...<drumroll>...iPhone.

I think I'd go along with that, although it is a shame it's not a bit more computer-like, like some of the others and have a slightly bigger screen.

                    like a HTC HD2?

Actually there is an android version of the HD2 out in the states. Give it some time and it might make its way over here

Yeah, I like the way you can do man sized stuff with some of the other smartphones, such as use them as a web server or a modem/wifi hotspot. Or do just about anything. Another plus point on the iPhone4 though is battery life, which is perhaps the best of the bunch now?
