Anyone watch the programme about Concorde last night? I thought it was very interesting and I think it is a great shame that it is still not in service. Has anyone ever had the pleasure of flying Concorde?

My dad is a rocket scientist.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson -

I meant the missile motor but yes the Olympus engines were something else. It was basically a giant passenger carrying jet fighter!Science isn't about why, it's about why not. I would have been nice if they could have kept one or two going for flying display purposes, although it would probably have needed the financial backing of a government or two to keep them in the air even for that purpose.Comment
