At the infamous SportsPalast rally in 1943, Goebbels called on the German people to wage total war, to huge applause and general approval within the country.
Well they got the total war they wished for.
    Hard Brexit now!

Agreed, I don't think there were too many members of "die Weiße Rose" present.

I was referring to people in general.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Is that "in general" or "in General". If the latter then "All hope abandon ye who enter here. Seriously."

            Small g.

I was going to write something trite about it being a sorry period in human history and then I realised that human history is to a large extent just a record of vile things that people have done to each other.

We should do more stuff like the moon landings.

I think we should sort our tulipe out on this planet before we go further afield.

To commemorate a skirmish that happened over 300 years ago!! Sheer lunacy, and not the sort of malarkey I want my Council Taxes going towards funding.

Yeah madness isn't it, it's not like anyone else commemorates famous battles annually.

Like it or not Shaun, the Glorious Revolution went on the create what became the British Empire.

Granted, that’s not what the bowler hats are celebrating, but if they’re not bothering people then leave them be. If they are bothering people then reroute the march, it’s not hard really.

Just because you’re offended by them banging on their drums why should they stop celebrating their culture? I'm not offended when I visit the U.S for the 4th of July, I wonder why certain communities get offended at the 12th?

"I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith

They're just bad losers mate, that's what it is.

Not even marching day, just a few bonfires and look who's causing all the trouble:

The trouble began at about 2345 BST on Sunday. Police used water canon and fired baton rounds at the nationalist rioters.
Christ if they wanted an invite all they had to do was ask.

The historian Taylor summed it up nicely: "The destruction of Dresden has an epically tragic quality to it. It was a wonderfully beautiful city and a symbol of baroque humanism and all that was best in Germany. It also contained all of the worst from Germany during the Nazi period. In that sense it is an absolutely exemplary tragedy for the horrors of 20th century warfare and a symbol of destruction"

It's taught in schools, the video in question is from a British tv series. I think it's fairly well known what happened. Whether it was really justified - I've no idea. It remains a horrifying event. But that's war for you.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!
