My father was a diabetic... for many years he was kept alive because he could inject insulin obtained from pigs...Originally posted by gricerboy View Post.........I have to say that now I would never consider a contract for any establishment that engages in the practice of animal testing no matter what the reason because I no longer think the end justifies the means under any circumstances.........
I could mention that all drugs that save 000s of human lives were and are "tested" on animals....
My view on ends justifying the means is different from yours...... I hope you or your family never need any drugs etc.Comment

I was asked the same question in an AZ interview, I advised that 'for the right rate I will hold them down for you', I got the job...
Ethically, there is a big difference between animal work done to develop safe medecine targetting illnesses affecting millions and that done to get a new shampoo - no, you aren't worth it.
Would need to know details of the client but if it's legal, I am likely to take the gig.Comment

Well, insulin from pigs aside, I was talking about animal testing. Much of this testing has been discredited - did you know for instance that aspirin would never have been allowed if research had been based on animal testing.Originally posted by Drewster View PostMy father was a diabetic... for many years he was kept alive because he could inject insulin obtained from pigs...

If it is illegal it'll just cost you more - do your own risk analysis and charge accordingly.Originally posted by Gonzo View PostEr, if it is your own poll then you can decide what options to offer.
FWIW, if it is legal then I will do it.

No you f'kin muppet!!!!!
I agree that some (even lots) of animal testing is NOT justified......
Its is W'nkers who use phrases like "under ANY circumstances"..... and (other) W'nkers who use emotive arguments (look at the poor little fluffy bunnies... its cruel etc).... that piss me off!!!
Animal Testing IS ACCEPTABLE in some circumstances....... you have just said thats your opinion..... don't argue f'king absolutes!!
By all means debate about which circumstances are acceptable but DON'T argue that it is wrong per se......
If someone genuinely believes that NO use of animals is correct then I trust they don't use any modern medicine, food, etc......
If mankind did not use animals we would be extinct.....
