Our neighbours have bees. Not a problem apart from when they swarm, it seems prudent to keep the kids indoors. They have swarmed twice this year but luckily we were out on both occasions.

And we got a nice jar of honey for our troubles.

I am seriously thinking about taking up beekeeping.

I am a little worried about getting stung while sun bathing in the garden, but other than that I am serious about taking it up.

Anyone looked into this? And taken the plunge?

Got some allergies like hayfever and eczema, so thinking that local honey could be just what I am needing.

There's someone in Hartford Avenue that turns out honey. You can get it in the local farmers' market.
