    Internet banking

    Folks,

A quick question regarding banking institutions in the UK... are there any whose internet banking facilities let you see details of credit card "authorisations" against your account (not just cleared transactions)? I find not knowing what the difference is between the total balance and the cleared balance somewhat annoying.

Similarly, is there a bank that doesn't require one of those chip readers for transacting payments? That is also annoying.

I am generally irritable these days.

    Thank you,
    Mal

      I thought we'd already trashed Mal's place?

Credit card accounts vary so can't make any useful suggestions.
I believe RBS only requires the chip reader when setting up new payments, or changing SOs.

None of my various providers HSBC, MBNA, Amex, Nationwide, Barclaycard and I can't remember the other one do.

HSBC business don't require you to do it.

I can sympathise about those card verification thingies

I'm going to stick up for Mal here. A wonky stool is nowhere near as bad as singing tunefully (apparently).
