Graham Le Saux had a degree apparently. But he was a crap player.Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostHas every England football player (and manager) been a bit thick, or are there exceptions?
I think the question identifies a big flaw in the footy team - they need more middle class people with character, determination and the ability to defer gratification.
Check out how ENgland made the final of the rugby world cup through sheer grit and determination.Hard Brexit now!

Agreed.Originally posted by Churchill View PostI think the quality of the football played so far in the tournament just goes to show that the best national side isn't necessarily one that would be constructed from the top premier league footballers.
Personally I hope they have an epiphany and massacre the opposition from this point onwards.
Churchill - In "St. Jude" mode.
There hasn't been much quality football, I can't recall seeing any dipping balls or wall defeating curlers. FIFA have nullified the skillful by using a ball that has little to no drag making it near impossible to influence its trajectory.
If the LTA introduced a 'slippy' ball for Wimbledon there would be an outcry.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Why don't they use hairy balls like in tennis? Or dimpled ones like in golf?Originally posted by gingerjedi View PostAgreed.

Isnt the reason they are playing badly because of the new ball which is the "worst" ball they have ever had the misery to play with ? Its not fair that they are given a ball that they cannot deal with.Originally posted by sasguru View Post...if they do that bunch of chavvy twunts will think they're really the dogs bollux.
The poor diddums apparently can't bear the discipline at the moment, they need to have their Playstations and to be entertained like a bunch of 5 year olds.
Rooney behaves like a petulant 4 year old and this is the guy we base our hopes on?
And the team apparently can't play without Barry, a pedestrian player at best?
Give me a fooking rest and bring the twunts home.
Other than that, WHS. I have got to say you got the prediction for England team performance spot on before the cup began.Vote Corbyn ! Save this country !Comment

Bollux, seeing as some African teams seem to have more technical, if not organisational, skill then some European nations.Originally posted by gingerjedi View PostBecause FIFA wanted the African teams to do well.Hard Brexit now!
