Sorry, I thought you already knew.

Ok, lets pretend I live somewhere else. Think of sailing.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Could I ask a question totally unrelated to this thread.... Are there ever any jobs further down the food chain for females? I did apply for one in Palestine, but that was a no go. I fancy working somewhere other than here and where I could potentially improve my foreign language skills.

"should not be allowed private calls"

The worst one for me was the secretary just outside my office who would ignore all incoming calls because she was busy with her own gossipy private phone calls. This was not a modern switchboard - there was a wall mounted bell, and I'd take the call just to shut the thing up. Drove me nuts.

There are times when you think of what you are earning per hour and say "I don't care if I sweep floors or answer phones at this rate", but when you can't get on with the contracted job, it gets beyond a joke. Only did a year there, when it could have become two or three.

More modern exchange here... There was the guy who would call all the numbers in our department until he found one that wasn't busy and leave the phone ringing forever until he got an answer. I am not kidding, he would let the number ring for an hour or more but never thought of, er, walking down two floors to see if anyone was there. Or even taking the lift.

We diverted him to an unused desk and buried that phone in the bottom desk drawer, covered by thick computer manuals and newspapers.
