Does Britain coming last in the Eurovision Song Contest mean that we are the unliked
We came last because our song was crap, written by two has been song writers who lifted it from the bin marked "Jason Donovan Rejects (1988)" and it was performed by a boyband reject with no identifiable stage presence.
Germany won becuase their song was written by a contempory writer, who is writing songs for current major artists, which was a number one in three countries and has had extensive airplay in most of the others. It was performed by a good looking 19 year old girl who could actually sing and had a back story to generate sympathy. ( She won a public competition to find Germany's singer for the competition ). Although admittedly she did come accross as a complete airhead afterwards but that may just have been the language issues.
Judging from the Boo'ing in the arena during the scoring it was the Russians who were the really unpopular ones there.
"Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.
The song was written by a Dane, so the Danes won really.
Nearly correct:
American songwriter Julie Frost and Danish songwriter John Gordon. Some sources credit the lyrics of the song to Julie Frost alone but the official statement says that both worked on the music and the lyrics.
“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”

You're doing an excellent impersonation of someone who cares.
