The Young Apprentice Vs The Great Egg Race, Professor Heinz Wolff Vs Suralan

When I was young The Great Egg Race was a show which encouraged me to want to work in technology, I found it fascinating and years later went on to study, successfully, for a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Tonight we have suralan setting children a task to sell cup cakes.

Now I know Engineering was a basket case in the 80s but training a bunch of brats to be super unskilled brats today is a step backwards.

Dyson is worth more than Sugar, so I say get Dyson on and this tulip off TV.

I thought you were a butchers boy?
Don't tell me you had to get a degree before they'd consider you?

My honours in Mech Eng was 5 years, 30 hours of study a week, I worked in the butchers for about 20 hours after that during study, full time at the weekends, and holidays, I am time served as a butcher and learned a trade when at uni.

Did you ever build a mechanical chopping machine?
What happens in General, stays in General.

No, but my boss chopped his finger in half on a mechanical sausage making machine.

Not in half as in top to bottom, in half from nail to knucle.

I only ended up in hospital twice due to cuts and that is well less than average. I tended to use the chain mail gloves/apron as often as was possible.

The butcher a couple of miles up the street from my shop killed himself, knife slipped and he stuck it into his groin and bleed to death.
