You don't buy insurance you buy right to make a claim - it becomes insurance only when your claim is covered. If you have serious claim (like when you hit someone) then all details of your case will be checked to find any excuse to refuse you cover - this means that by going cheap questionable way you are actually taking serious chances to find yourself out of insurance if tulip hits the fan.

Considering that you are presumably taking on a job with high rate in London saving a hundred quid a year on proper insurance is the kind of retarded choice that only short sighted cretins would do.

Self insure. Only takes a few hundred £k lodged at the high court.

I a proper dickhead is someone who gets paid shredload of money by contracting in London, yet saves pennies on car insurance that can result in jail sentence for himself and fecked up life for victims of accident that he one day might be involved in.

I would not be suprised to hear Tony asking next how to get his cheap banger pass MOT on the cheap without actually fixing broken stuff in it.

You are still talking rubbish. So I go on moneysupermarket.com or the like and take the cheapest quote that comes up. Are you seriously suggesting that they would not cover me against damage/injury caused to a 3rd party for a fully road legal car. Brilliant. So long as I didn't lie about previous claims/convictions, estimated milage etc then there would be no wiggle room.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

            I preferred version 1!

I was going to write a missive about your assumptions being completely wrong, but you won't accept it when you get in this mood.

You're a bit like my mother in that respect.

You really are turning into a ***** on this

Do you seriously think that paying 500 instead of 250 gives you better cover? It's because the combination of you, your car and their priorities means that they want more from you. There are often extras that get included into more expensive quotes, such as hire car etc, but I don't want any of these because

                I WILL NOT BE CLAIMING!

But if I have an accident that is my fault or cause damage to a 3rd party, then so long as I have not lied to get the cover, the insurance company has to pay up regardless of the fact that it was a quote for 250 or 500.

So because I'm looking to find out the cheapest option for insuring a car that will do exactly 10 miles a day, 5 days of the week you can determine this can you. The car has been owned by my cousin for the past 7 years. Has some service history and an MOT until the end of Jan.

Yes, it's cheap because you don't get the extras the expensive ones have.
