Trains are wonderful aren’t they? Zurich, Lugano, Paris, Madrid, the Scottish Highlands and Macclesfield all in one thread. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014 -

enjoy!Originally posted by rsingh View PostI go between Macclesfield and Euston Monday morning abnd Friday evening. A first class return works out cheaper than the standard class return. The refreshments are good and I get plenty of space.
Plus I now have enough tickets so that this journey will be free for the next 12 months which is a big bonus. I haven't requested booze on the Monday morning leg though - I don't want to blow my cover...
Mine expires at the end of this month - and don't forget it entitles you to a free drinkie at Euston in the 1st class lounge
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

Can you use the first class lounge if you've just got a normal first class ticket, or do you have to have some kind of club membership? I've never bothered finding out, usually because I get there at the last moment in a mad rush... but would be useful to know if I'm missing anything.Originally posted by Pogle View PostEuston in the 1st class lounge

Its also handy if you come off the train and want to freshen up or need the loo, nicer loos than the ones you have to pay for, they have showers and hairdryers too.Originally posted by dang65 View PostCheers. Must try and leave work earlier one of these days.
But you have to have a Virgin 1st class ticketI'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

Ironically, there was a time when I might have found some use for a hairdryer, but I couldn't afford first-class travel back then. Nowadays, it takes about 3 seconds for my "hair" to dry all by itself.Originally posted by Pogle View Postthey have showers and hairdryers too.
<-- and that's quite a good likeness actually.

I used to travel every morning from Sheffield to Nottingham - I was alone in First every day.
Nice Polynesian stewardesses used to serve me fresh orange juice dripping off their full rounded breasts.
You can't beat Virgintrains - all for £11 return per day.Comment
