Bet the holidays are well cheap!
    This ^^.

Just come back from there and the only real annoyances was taxi's refuse to go any where near them (which is annoying as they placed themselves at a major hub in the city so longer taxi trips, but as taxi's so cheap is just lost time) and few of the shopping malls are closed

BK is such a huge city it will have little impact on tourists beyond that and reduced hotel bills (which we need due to pound being so bloody weak)

If you try and get a taxi outside a hotel they wont do it.

Thats because they're trying to rip you off as a tourist. Stupid fixed rate prices. Same with Tuk Tuks.

If you want a taxi to take you somewhere and actually put the meter on,walk up the road and hail one. They will take you somewhere. But you'll need to speak some Thai as they wont speak English (the ones outside your hotel trying to rip you off - will!)

Yeah MBK was open most days, though if woman's cloth shopping recommend platinum retail mall more (as long as not looking for high end gear)

Siam/Central World was closed about half time was there…which was probably a good thing

MF, we have our own driver when we're in Bangkok - much more civilised.

MBK for Jeans for himself - we got a few pairs last time, cos he's so tall it was brilliant to have them the right length.
                  Oh and MBK for handbags

Never been to Platinum Retail Mall... will have to put it on my list to check it out - Thank You!!

                    Oooo get you two!

I'm working when I go there, so I keep costs down(though I always fly business class)

Bangkok I take taxis or the skytrain.

Elsewhere I hire a motor bike. Never had the balls to do that in Bangkok!!
