You seem to have run out of arguements - I stated my opinion that the manager of Wigan is better than Sven because Wigan actual shown what can be down with bugger all money in a very competitive tournament. I doubt Wigan's manager would decline offer to lead national team - and if Beckham won't like it then its his problem.
      that you understand.
Paul Jewell, for indeed he is the manager of Wigan, would be laughed out of the ground by englands senior players at this stage in his career.
It's not a case of better managers, at this stage there is no-one to take up the challenge. Mourinnho would indeed be better than Sven (I think) long-term. And why would Mourinho leave his current job , probably the best management job in europe, to pick up the poisoned chalice that is England.
It wouldn't matter if he did. In the short term England are stuck with Sven. So how is undermining his position helping England?
      Why not?

If players choose not to play then the next best candidates will have to be chosen - I have far more respect for Wigan's players who are not paid ridiculous wages, yet, then go to play game to win, attitude that seems to lack in Beckhams of this world because he gets paid anyway.

So rather than pay you a reasonable wage (for your skillset and proven ability) I should hire some cheap temp who doesn't understand what I need, can't do it even if he understands and shouldn't be allowed near a pc.
But he's cheap and he'll try hard.
Have you moved into management, Alexei?
            Why not?

Proven ability? Not to kick England, but when was the last time current players won World Cup or something like this? Its not like Sven did not have a chance - its not like all games that the team played were flawless and they only lost once - in the Final, so it would have made sense give him another chance.

AFAIK players who play for England don't get paid ridiculous wages they pull in their clubs - the issue of pay is simply not there, AFAIK national team manager can pick any qualifying player disregarding issue of their cost.

I am pretty sure that any non-spoilt player wants to play for England in the World Cup, and while tw@ts like Beckham, Ferdinand should be dropped, good guys like Owen will stay and play - good for them and good for those others who would take up on honour to play in high level competition, I doubt there will be shortage of players willing to play.

                You're right, I give in

                your logic is inescapable.
England haven't won the world cup for 40 years so shouldn't bother turning up, you're right. Just give the cup to Brazil now, after all they won it last time and so will obviously win it again (actually that might be true anyway).
                Why not?

COME ON! Are you gonna say that BURTON ALBION's manager Mr Clough is better than Sven etc etc cos they got a draw with Man Ure in the cup?
Your argument is flawed............I believe he has been caught out...but I don't believe everything the press says........how long ago did the Daily SPort have the headline "Lancaster Bomber Found on the Moon"? It must be true the "Free Press" Printed it.....

No - this logic means that CURRENT player that PLAYED in world cup already have nothing to complain about, if they don't like new manager then can STFU and pack bags and let others play.
