James Huntingdon, the MP for Falmouth East suggested a tax disc for cyclists... only to drop the idea when it was pointed out that some cars (sub 100g/km) are now exempt from road duty.
What a knob.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
I'm a cyclist, but I'm neither a poser cyclist with helmet, jersey and silly shorts, nor a "holier than thou" city centre commuter cyclist who feels justified in causing death and mayhem to all those around by making everything somebody else's responsibility (hard to believe the same people are Labour supporters). I just go out and cycle round the country lanes because I enjoy it and to get a bit of regular exercise. I can't understand why anybody wants to cycle on busy roads; I've even seen the odd cyclist on the A34 (a motorway in all but name), which is virtual suicide.
What really pi$$es me off are cyclists (usually the Lycra and DH helmet type) who insist on cycling along a road or duel carriageway when there is a perfectly good cycle path along side.
