1) Take a mass of water at "cold"
2) Take an equal mass of water at "hot"
3) freeze them......... the "cold" one freezes first... end of!Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

Go outside in winter when it's really cold, I mean -15 or colder. Throw a cup of boiling hot water in the air and watch what happens. Repeat with cold water. Explain the difference. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

ie Your implication was that "Hot water always freezes faster than cold water"
You know and I know that that implication is untrue - generally speaking, in most circumstances cold water will freeze faster that hot water.
Hot water will have an initial rate of cooling much greater than the cold water but it will become cold water before it becomes ice whereas the cold water will become colder water before it becomes ice.
So stop prattling about Aristotle et al - and accept that you were trying to sound "clever" and you didn't achieve it.
No doubt you can come up with more counter-intuitive "facts" but unless you qualify your language and clarify that you are talking about exceptions then you will continue to appear stupid.Comment

Drewster, you were shown to hold to a belief system that was at variance with established scientific fact. Rather than admit your views belonged to a faith based system, you use the same semantic tricks as religious nut-jobs do to deflect from your failure.
QED.Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.
