    Had the software manager said

We are no longer using the services of company x

noone would have had a problem

and that in effect is what has happened.

also it useful to know that the company is no longer dealing with contractor n/company x as if you had any work outstanding you would know you had an issue...

    probably
He's told us that the contractor was bounced because of performance issues. Should the contractor decide to contest this where is the evidence? Also, how do the rest of us know that this was the real reason?

That email has in effect tarnished his name.

Its also a 'cat among the pigeons' email which would put the fear through the rest of the contract staff. But that assumes it was done for that effect as opposed to 'not having a clue' which is what I believe Churchill is saying.

More likely the latter as the former could cause serious ructions!

It's disturbing to note that someone with the title of 'development manager' doesn't understand the difference between having a consultant from an external supplier on your team and having an employee of your organisation on your team.

I expect the jelous poverty stricken permies are smirking at one-another. What an awful business this is.
