British punk was a pretty pathetic ordeal really, the pistols were a formulated band and the clash aspired to be as big as the pistols. Too much cheap speed and gob and too little talent. I'm not being miserable, punk was just a very poor time for british music, people banging out 3 chords were somehow thought of as credible, and the clash were feckin the worst of the lot. I know football songs with more to offer than half their pish.
