    I don't remember MacDonald captaining anybody. He would only have captained England if the qualification was to have to score five goals in one match.

    If so he'd still be captain.

        I thought he was captain for the day when he bagged those five vs Luxembourg, but the stats say it wasn't the case.....

          Cyprus.

          I was there and left the ground after the game not knowing he'd got all five. No big screens or announcements in those days.

          As I recall, he only scored one or two other goals for England.

            Just checked - Cypus, correct!

            His only other goal was vs West Germany.

            So he was crap then....
