Stuff 'em with anything to stop them moving on your feet even if it's 3 or 4 pairs of socks - deal with the damage if and when you get home! -
I started to wear trainers after the half way mark, put the boots back on for scree and bog.Originally posted by Churchill View PostStuff 'em with anything to stop them moving on your feet even if it's 3 or 4 pairs of socks - deal with the damage if and when you get home!
All the stuff I was ever taught , that you 'must wear boots', turned out to be worthless. I spent three days walking on the outside edge of my feet. oh the pain.

Don't think so. To be honest, very few ever went running in the Hobnail ones. If you had a pair of those "Ammo Boots", people tended to keep those all bulled/polished up for special parade stuff. The standard boots went from being ankle type boots in the early 80s to higher level ones later that decade. I got out in 1989 and that was round about the point that the youngsters were being allowed to do their BFT (Basic Fitness Tests) in trainers. I believe that running in boots is now almost a thing of the past, which is a bit of a shame as that is what you will be wearing when the excrement hits the revolving thing.Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostDo soldiers still have to run using hobnail boots?“The period of the disintegration of the European Union has begun.
