Good, biofuels are destroying vast areas of rainforests as local farmers are being paid (on environmental grounds
) to slash and burn rainforests to grow crops for biofuels.

all the better then eh DP, start using all that addictive black stuff instead and then no more rainforests are cut.. win winThe proud owner of 125 Xeno Geek PointsComment

One in which a few parts per million of CO2 goes up every 100 years or one with no bio-diversity, no CO2 absorbing rainforests?Comment

so Dp, you're saying burn it all and use it all now and don't worry about future generations.. an interesting if controversial approachThe proud owner of 125 Xeno Geek PointsComment

Most biofuels aren't nearly as green as they were made out to be, and they will almost certainly never be carbon neutral.

Electric cars are the way forward, or hydrogen burning IC engines like the BMW ones. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment

Electrolysis of water has to be the long term goal, although algae can also be used to produce it from sewage and other waste. This latter option does produce CO2 but as the CO2 is all produced in one place it should be easier to deal with than from a car exhaust. Having said that I'm not hopeful about this carbon capture and storage technology.Originally posted by Churchill View PostWhere are you going to get the Hydrogen from? While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you.
