My misses is a veggy, though she does eat some meat She stopped being veggy for a couple of months though as the doctor said she wastnt getting enough protien, I helped out there

Anyway we always have Quorn mince in spag bol, lasgne, sheps pie. Its actually quite nice and I get some comfort in knowing Im not eating minced up testicle. Only down side of it is that it give you majors bottom burps

Quorn Burgers and sausages though are fecking minging, dont bother with them, other Veggy sauages are alot better, also best veggy burgers are Tesco own brand.

Although I don't eat Quorn, I guess it's better to go for that option than run the risk of eating potentially GM soya from the States.

However, if you want some healthy options rather than steak and mince - try some fresh soy-glazed tuna steaks with lime, spring onions, honey and chilli and a sweetcorn and mango salsa.

        Quorn

One of the best things about Quorn is that you don't half appreciate meat when you go back to it !

One thing that has always puzzled me, apart from lack of luck with the ladies, is why veggies want vegetarian food to taste like meat?

Supermarket bread is full of the fookin stuff, along with half a bag of salt and a nice spraying of fungicide for good measure.

              Bake your own I say.

Interesting report Bagpuss - especially this:

Thus individuals who are replacing butter with margarine high in trans fat to reduce their risks of coronary disease may obtain no benefit or -- if trans fat has deleterious effects beyond those on LDL and HDL -- may even increase their risk.
I wonder how many people have switched from butter to marg just for this - I know I did. I've been back on butter and Lipitor for a few years so not too worried!

It's worse than saturated fat in some respects. I will be shopping at M&S as soon as they switch over. i think it's bloody discraceful, where is the informed choice?
