And if he is mistaken then what would you do? Chances are you will only have enough time to say - "ATW was right after all and Professor Brian Cox is a c...[BOOM]" -

You mean you'd believe an eminent scientist over a forum know-all?Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostI’ll take Professor Brian Cox’s word on this one. I don't really lilke the 'appeal to authority' form of argument, but I have a feeling he knows a lot more about the LHC than I do. he is also a world renowned authority on the subject of twats.

Eminent scientist can't possibly give 100% guarantee nothing happens - nobody effing knows what will happen, they got theories that they hope to prove and get nobel prize. Very nice of them, but the risks that their research carries might look small but since it's totally unknown AND potentially very seriously dangerous to the whole effing planet, then this research should stop given that it brings no obvious benefits.Originally posted by DiscoStu View PostYou mean you'd believe an eminent scientist over a forum know-all?
I would not want this thing nearer than 100000 light years from Earth, maybe further.Comment

If it means I don't have to read any more of the tulip you post on here then maybe a new big bang wouldn't be such a bad thingOriginally posted by AtW View PostEminent scientist can't possibly give 100% guarantee nothing happens - nobody effing knows what will happen, they got theories that they hope to prove and get nobel prize. I don't carry a risk of having solar system turn into one black hole though.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostSome people have been known to say that about you.

Neither does the LHC....Originally posted by AtW View PostI don't carry a risk of having solar system turn into one black hole though.
Frankly, I think you pose a greater threat to humanity.

You can't say it for sure - what they are trying to do is unexplored and they in their own words trying to recreate conditions that existed before or around Big Bang - this certainly does not sound like some cuddly fluffy animals.Originally posted by Moscow Mule View PostNeither does the LHC....
I say give each of those bozos a million dollars to retire and write books how evil Govt did not allow them to conduct their research. Beats turning earth into new Sun or a blackhole

Funny how someone who makes a living from technology all of a sudden becomes a Luddite.Originally posted by AtW View PostYou can't say it for sure - what they are trying to do is unexplored and they in their own words trying to recreate conditions that existed before or around Big Bang - this certainly does not sound like some cuddly fluffy animals.
