Wingnut - I don't thnk you'll get lynched but do be aware it's grab-a-granny night here on CUK.
Some people are hairist (or more accurately, furrist) but you just have to grin and bear it.
We may have to trash your house too - them's the rules.

There you are. So far I've found the porn, the beer, and the spirits cabinet.
That's a hatrick. <chink>
I just PMd you some stuff to look at. NL is kind of right, there is stuff on the main CUK web site that has a lot of answers you need.
Ltd Co is the way forward.
And beware posters in red mankinis (unless they have a clown face)

Hey at least I was honest? All the rest were ripping in to him and poor bloke didn't know why....
And from what I remember in other threads LTD isn't the best way to go at all.
I seem to think the general consensus is to start with an umbrella until you are comfortable or get another gig then switch to LTD. So you see searching is more useful

What are you on about NorthernLadUk?
This poster has just been treated to the CUK equivalent of soft velvet pillows, angel touches, cotton wool sheets and the supple smooth kisses of the virgins of the IT Development team.
Welcome to Heaven. Please come in, enjoy and help yourself.....
Got a bit of a lull in my day job (IT support) and just dossing about at home. Been snooping around for a few days and thought what the heck. I just hope I don't get lynched on my first day
Market seems a bit quiet at the moment. I was permie up until Christmas, when I took voluntary redundancy. I've been scratching around doing a few jobs for friends businesses but that good will has run out, they only need so much doing.
Is there much out there for IT support at the moment? Nothing doing on the permie front, so I am considering anything.
I have a friend who is a contractor who said not to use an umbrella company and go Ltd. Is this cost effective, what with corporation tax, accounts fees etc?
