I was on a similar number per day. I used plenty of nicorette gum in the early days of stopping though. -

Giving up after smoking that amount per day must have quite a marked and immediate effect for the better on health and fitness?Originally posted by oracleslave View PostI was on a similar number per day [40]. I used plenty of nicorette gum in the early days of stopping though.Comment

Didn't really notice an immediate improvement to be honest. When I was a smoke I used to appease my guilt with 4 heavy gym sessions a week. When I quit, I actually got quite lazy as I didn't have the guilt pushing me to exercise.Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostGiving up after smoking that amount per day must have quite a marked and immediate effect for the better on health and fitness?
I think it took me about 6 months of coughing "stuff up" to really clear my lungs and get properly cardiovacularly (not a word but you know what I mean) fit again. I haven't smoked in around 10 years so my body apparently should have just about healed itself by now.Comment
