A lot more to the Lucy story that you are aware of so can't make a comparison there.

The money went via a charity website so went to the cause people donated to, it did not go directly to him. Had the money gone into his pocket then it would be different.

From my point of view the guy is a problem when you do not know who he is. Having him here with an ID where we know exactly who he is and he has to face up to the stuff he has done suggests to me that he is capable of atoning for his past deeds. I think that people should always be given a chance. I would rather know he is on here and deal with his past issues than be wondering when or if he was likely to come back under a new name.

I don't think you are out of order for discussing this or disagreeing with me. Despite what some have said I did not ban Brillo, or anyone else, for disagreeing with me and I will not shy away from talking about stuff like this. If I do something wrong then I expect you lot to tell me. I know I cannot please everyone on some subjects and that is the way it is but I am happy to discuss why I make the decisions I do and also I am capable of changing my mind. I try to be fair to everyone where I can but please also appreciate that I am a person just like you and am not going to make the right judgement all the time.

Since Menelaus has been back this is the first time anyone has wanted to discuss this other than the childish threads like "Who has been to prison". I have not had one PM to say they are annoyed or upset with his presence here and that surprised me.

Some users on this thread agree in terms of forgiveness and there are some who do not and would be happier if he was just banned.

I called a vote some time ago over the banning of a user. I felt pretty rubbish about that afterwards and I am not about to do that again. If the overriding feeling here is that his presence is not welcome then I have the guts to admit I am wrong and ban the ID.

I have explained why I let Craig continue to post on here, if I am wrong then tell me.

Cyberman was banned for saying all scots should be put down at birth, I am fairly sure I said not long after that all English should be put down at birth.

Now I know he was joking and everone knew I was joking but there is a more sinister edge to this developent and I do not think it should be passed off.

Sorry, wrote a reply to this but can't find it so here goes again.

Cyberman's final act that culminated in his ban was for saying all scots should be put down at birth. He had said several other borderline racist / xenophoic things which he had been warned about. The noise and hassle he was causing on the forum made him a target for me to ban as well at that was the final straw for me.

Your comment about wanting all English people to be put down at birth is in a different league.

Let me explain that this forum takes a fair bit of looking after. If someone winds other users on the forum up and it ends up sucking away at my time to police the place then they are more likely to get banned simply to make my life easier.
