What’s the point of a good media centre if the media’s such a load of tulip? And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014 -
errr and what makes you say that???Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostA Pc makes a tulipe media centre.
I've had a pc as a media center for a few years now and I think it's a great solution
ultra quiet
unlimited storage space
high end graphics
high end sound
bluray writer / hd dvd writer / dvd writer / cd writer all in 1 single drive
Windows media center PVR is just as good as sky's if not better IMO
and a regular pc for switching to when you want to surf the net
the spec i have plays all the latest games
you can remote into it whenever you want to get something while away (movies/songs etc.)
all in 1 single box
what do you see as the reasons why its so tulipe?Last edited by chef; 2 March 2010, 14:25.The proud owner of 125 Xeno Geek PointsComment

It could be she just doesn't care and is too busy with something/somebody else

Dimprawn says anything anyone else buys is tulip. See the endless car threads where he slags off other people’s choices. Dimprawn lives in the finest mock Georgian shed in Swindon, above a basement kebab shop and complete with B&Q concrete lions, drives a selection of used BMWs, owns a helicopter and thinks everyone else has bad taste.Originally posted by chef View Posterrr and what makes you say that???

Having your own kebab shop in your basement is pretty cool.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostDimprawn says anything anyone else buys is tulip. I'm entitled to my opinion. Windows Media centre is a faff, the PC needs too much time to startup. It's just not a good experience.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostDimprawn says anything anyone else buys is tulip. See the endless car threads where he slags off other people’s choices. How many people have a SKY+ HD box compared to a "media centre PC". There's a reason.
And I don't live in Swindon.
And BMW's are superb cars (as long as there is no snow on the road).
And you are a tw@t.
HTH
PS. But hey it's your money Chef, if you think it's cool to have a PC in a 1980's VHS box and faff about, go for it!Comment

I've had several of them. They keep going pop.Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostHow many people have a SKY+ HD box compared to a "media centre PC". There's a reason.
On the other hand, if you want live football, pay per view movies & lost it's the best solution.Last edited by doodab; 2 March 2010, 14:37.While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment

When chef's £1K PC goes pop, that's £1K down the drain.Originally posted by doodab View PostI've had several of them. They keep going pop every 12-18 months.Comment

Or £50 for a new whatever and he gets to keep his recordings.Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostWhen chef's £1K PC goes pop, that's £1K down the drain.
The Sky UI has gone downhill with the latest upgrades as well, it's pretty sluggish. I would much prefer to get Sky via my PC & GBPVR but they use a different card system than the CI ones.
Of course these days you can get sky anytime on your PC, the best of both worlds. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment
