I think he once had a medical Q & A column in the Express, and he may even have been the original inspiration for Private Eye's spoof "A Doctor Writes" section.

He has worked as a tabloid newspaper columnist, producing a spoof "agony uncle" column in the Sunday People which became memorable for the vehemence of his opinions. On one occasion he argued that if some children diagnosed with autism were stuck “up to their necks in a vat full of warm sewage for 10 hours they would soon learn some manners”.
Coleman's style is a bit too much of a rant for me. But even if he toned down his delivery, Brown still comes out of it as frighteningly incompetent. And we know that this stuff is true.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
