Personally I think a diesel hatchback/estate/MPV is more suitable, don't get me wrong I would have an SUV but when diesel hits £2-£3 a litre I'd rather have something that does 60-70mpg so I can still afford to eat.
Saying that, the new small turbo petrol engined cars may be the better bet. I read recently that diesel is getting more expensive down to the type of oil available yielding petrol easier than diesel.Last edited by gingerjedi; 21 February 2010, 13:04.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

If I could go back I'd buy the Nissan SUV today, good for the city and good for the motorway too.Last edited by Francko; 21 February 2010, 16:05.I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.Comment
