That may be my best choice so far. Not being rich, I have to get a job there in order to live there, but it's a possibility.

Germany and Austria are nice as well.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

I agree. There seems not to be so much work in Austria (well, it is a small country). Germany is attractive. Formerly high-tax, ISTM not so much to have cut its tax as to have been overtaken by the rest of Western Europe, especially the UK.

Funnily enough I had thought of that too. I have a lady in my life, but I like the other sides of it.

I suppose a personal factor about somewhere like Sweden with high tax but high State provision is this:

                  I am getting on.
I have neglected to have good retirement provision, or at least neglected to keep it in my own possession.
So much as I admire good pension plans, I'm not sure I can afford it: were I to live in a country for 10 years before retirement, presumably I'd pay large taxes for the rest of my working life, but only collect 1/4 of a pension. Which is only fair. But for me personally, I should probably look at lower taxes and lower provision, leaving more to save for my own retirement. Possiblt then looking at a low-cost country. Or is that not logical, or the subject of a whole other discussion?

CZ might be interesting. But I don't think that New Prague, Minnesota would help

                      £500k or thereabouts.

If you get a job in Vienna, you can live across the border in Bratislava where a similar house to the one above would be much cheaper...
