    Sure, I just need to land one of these legendary roles that pay about £120k a year tax free plus living expenses and I'm sorted. The roles do exist but so far my success rate at getting near them is so far zero.

    The snag with going for the lower graded jobs is that you are head to head with qualified and experienced Asians/Syrians/Lebanese/Iraqi/East Europeans/Nigerian/Sudanese/Egyptian guys etc... who all work for about 1/3rd of your rate.
